Is a new iMac in my future?

27" iMac (October 2009)Today, Apple released a whole slew of new product updates. The one I'm most interested in however, is the new iMac. I have been editing video, photos, and audio on a first generation 24" white iMac for three years now. It still gets the job done, but lately it seems a bit sluggish.

Site just relaunched!

The new hoodproductions.com just went live this afternoon! After several years of using the old website design, it was time for a much needed facelift. This new site is powered by Drupal, a free open source CMS.

How to Stop the Email Subscription Habit

Today I made a small and easy change in my life. I unsubscribed from every bulk email I get no matter what it was for or who it was from.

My Backup Strategy

Backing your files up is an absolute, must do. Over the years I have developed a pretty good system that is also affordable. Since I couldn't afford the latest and greatest RAID 5 setup with multiple drives I went a different path.

Forget about using DVD's to back up your data! Hard drives are cheap now and so much faster to backup to than DVD is.

Here is my Mac based setup. I'm sure you could find a similar setup for PC's.

Bits on the Run

For a while I have been looking for a good solution for putting videos on my website in Flash format instead of Quicktime or Windows Media. The reason being almost everyone has Flash installed on their computer. What I found was Bits on the Run.
